India and MERCOSUR Adopt Digital Framework for Certificates of Origin
India and MERCOSUR signed the First Additional Protocol to facilitate electronic Certificates of Origin. DRI Seizes Over 362 Tonnes of Pakistan-Origin Dry Dates in Import-Evasion Case
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized more than 362 metric tonnes of Pakistan-origin dry dates under Operation Deep Manifest. Thirteen containers were intercepted at CFS Ambad in Nashik after arriving through the United Arab Emirates. Preliminary findings indicated that the consignments had originated at Karachi and were routed through Jebel Ali to conceal their Pakistani origin. India has prohibited direct and indirect imports of goods originating in or exported from Pakistan under a DGFT notification. The seizure demonstrates enforcement action against attempts to circumvent trade restrictions through third-country routing.
