On August 11, 2023, a Supreme Court Division Bench in Devesh Sharma v. Union of India struck down and quashed the NCTE’s June 28, 2018 Notification, holding that equating B.Ed. with D.El.Ed. violated the right to quality primary education under Article 21A of the Constitution.
