Privacy Commitment: OneTool Compass is engineered as a privacy-first tactical navigation utility. We do not sell, rent, monetize, or harvest your personal information. Sensor computations and GPS coordinates are processed strictly in real-time on your device.
1. Information We Access and How We Use It
A. Location Data (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)
- Purpose: OneTool Compass accesses your device location strictly while the application is in foreground use. This is necessary to calculate real-time magnetic declination via the NOAA World Magnetic Model (WMM-2025), calculate true azimuth headings, display GPS coordinates (Latitude, Longitude, Altitude), and calculate distance to nearby landmarks.
- On-Device Privacy: Your location data is calculated locally in volatile memory (RAM) and is never transmitted to, stored on, or retained by any remote developer servers.
B. Device Sensor Data
- Sensors Accessed: Hardware Magnetometer, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope.
- Purpose: To render the 360° tactical compass dial, compute pitch and roll angles, and power the integrated spirit bubble level.
- All sensor data stays entirely on your local device hardware and is discarded in real time.
C. Haptic Feedback (VIBRATE)
- Used solely to produce tactile haptic vibrations when aligning with cardinal headings (0° North, 90° East, 180° South, 270° West).
2. Third-Party Services & Monetization
To provide a free version and optional premium licenses, OneTool Compass integrates standard Google Play SDK services:
A. Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)
- The free version offers users an optional, opt-in 15-second sponsor video to unlock an ad-free navigation session.
- Google AdMob may process device identifiers, Android Advertising ID (AAID), and standard diagnostic telemetry to deliver rewarded ads in compliance with Google Privacy & Terms.
B. Google Play In-App Billing
- Users may purchase an optional Lifetime VIP License or Monthly Subscription.
- Transactions and payment methods are processed exclusively by Google LLC through the Google Play Store. We do not collect, view, or retain payment card information or banking details.
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not share, sell, lease, or distribute any user or location information with any third parties or data brokers.
4. Children's Privacy
OneTool Compass is intended for general audiences and outdoor navigation and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
5. Security & Offline Functionality
All core compass navigation tools function completely offline without requiring internet access or account creation. User preferences (such as VIP unlock flags and calibration metrics) are stored securely on the local device.
